The Wollonguide website and services are published by Peetica Pty Ltd ACN 123 733 728. Your contact here is Pete. Email him at pete@wollonguide.com.
We do our best to make these policies friendly. If we can improve them please email Pete and tell him what to change.
Click here for the lengthy exposition of our privacy policy. Here's a summary:
When you're just browsing the website it works the same as all the other websites. We use cookies and server logs and the usual web stuff to help us understand how people use the site.
In general the data we collect is aggregated in ways that don't personally identify you. Nor do we intend to gather personal information about you.
Please be aware that we (and the operators of all other websites) can sometimes infer a lot about you from your browsing patterns. If you're concerned about that, you probably shouldn't use our website.
We use what information we do gather to make Wollonguide easier to use, which we hope will encourage everyone to tell their friends about it, which should lead to Step 3: Profit.
If you send us email, we store it and your email address. If you send us information through the forms on our website we store that too. If you ask us to, we will delete email and other information you've sent. We never sell or rent your private email address and other contact details, or give them away.
If you ask us to publicize an event, we publish, on the public internet, the contact details you tell us to use. Please consider that anyone, including spammers, can mine public websites like ours for email addresses and names. Unfortunately we can't prevent people from misusing information we publish, so we help you contain the problem by only publishing contact details you tell us you want to use.
We don't want to know about your credit cards or bank accounts. Please don't tell us anything about them.
We never send email asking about your financial details. If you receive such a message purportedly from us, it's a fraud. Report it to the authorities immediately.
Behind the scenes the Wollongong website and services depend on a fairly complicated set of technologies. More complicated than a hairdryer and less complicated than, say, aircraft. We try to choose reliable technology providers. We usually follow sensible operating procedures. Despite all that, it's pretty much guaranteed that things will go wrong every now and then.
While usually it all works, please don't depend on the system being available, or upon the information it presents being accurate.
When you notice something broken we'll really appreciate if you email Pete (pete@wollonguide.com) and tell him what's gone wrong.
From time to time we change these policies. Hopefully not too often and hopefully not too much. We'll do our best to make changes in your favour, although sometimes that's not possible.
Please check back here regularly for policy updates.
